Peruvian Tree Frog - Scott Spalding

A song about a lovely frog, plucked from his environment and taken away to the zoo.

Lyrics:

I wish I was back home at my trees,
flexing my toes and my knees.
Catching some flies with my tongue
laying back resting when I'm done.

In my swamp with a swirl,
trying to impress the tree frog girl.
Flexing my toes and my knees,
and building a nest for these.

But one day the bulldozers came,
and my home they did maim.
Now I am here on show,
in front of boys and girls, oh I don't know.

What is to become of me,
all I want is my home in my tree.
People they come everyday,
and point with their fingers and say.

Why is this froggy so sad,
Can we help him please dad?
No son there's not much we can do,
he is now at home in the zoo.

But dad why is this so,
he clearly wants to go.
Oh look he's flexing his knees,
do you think he thinks about trees?
