I rescued this baby bird about 2 months ago. I found him in my window well and cared for him throughout the night. Actually, I fell in love with him that night.
(See my other rumble videos of him the time we spent together)

I put a comfy sheet in a box which I positioned on its side so he can get out, and put it on my picnic table. Put some food and water in there -enough to feed a flock of 70 birds out of pure fear he wouldn't have something he wanted. I even scraped sesame seeds off of a loaf of Italian bread. I literally played with him for hours. I fed him water which he would swallow a drop off of my finger. I was scratching his belly , And under his wings but his favourite was when I scratched under his beak. As you can imagine, by that point I was in love and prepared to do what I had to do to: either 1-Help him find his mom.. OR 2- tell my husband that we have a new pet. I loved him up all night, covered him up with the sheet in the box, and draped a towel over the opening and said goodnight

The next morning he was chirping and his mother heard him and frantically flew DIRECTLY to the side of towel, got into the box and tried coaxing him out and he hopped out to try and follow her. Problem was, he still couldn't fly, so he simply hopped on the table hopped on the chair and that's when I came outside.

I saw him in my garden, the mom was screaming nervous and landed on my fence wildly yelling, But actually realised she had to succumb to our help. So I picked up the baby and took him to the edge of the lawn. She was at the other edge of the lawn on the fence pickedt waiting. I put him down and he Waddled rapidly straight to her and under the fence where she could get him. About 3 weeks later I saw him flying happy with his mom in my yard.

He now comes every day and he sits on the picket fence where he runs along the top of pickets as i call him. He's getting braver and braver coming closer and closer to me when I call him. Its the cutest thing and I never have camera ready. Today I finally had my camera when he visited and our visit was cut short of course by Bruno the pitbull himself. Great timing Bruno.
