Wallace is a hand raised, zoo born hippo. DeYoung Zoo in Wallace, MI has had him since he was a baby. He has a set routine for feeding and is very gentle. Here he is eating some romaine lettuce. He even lets you pet him on the head. Hippos are very dangerous in the wild and to have this opportunity to be this close is just amazing.
