A Canadian beaver makes quick work of sealing a leak in its dam. Flooded to a new depth with plenty of recent rain, water from the contained pond pours over top of the dam wall. Beavers are attacked to the sound of running water, which immediately triggers them into building mode. Starting by placing large tree branches and sticks as a framework, the beaver builds up a patchwork around the leak. Next, the beaver will dive down to the bottom of the pond, and push up a large amount of mud and natural debris to fill the holes in the framework, essentially sealing any holes.
