NOLA Protests

We’ve seen some strange and interesting things in America these last months, but I think this week I’ve seen the strangest communication from a high-ranking director working for the New Orleans government. As part of a press release under Mayor Latoya Cantrell’s name the New Orleans Health Department Director, Dr. Jennifer Avegno used these words “if you are white and privileged, COVID-19 is still coming for you, and to act irresponsibly because you think you may be safe is unconscionable during a pandemic.”
