He carried a badge and a gun for thirty years at the popular family fun park Fantasy Island. Known as Marshal Dan in Western Town, it was his job to take care of the bad guys. The make-believe shoot-outs were always the highlight for kids of all ages.

Dan Monroe retired from the park a few years ago, but says that when he heard it was closing it was tough "It was hard to watch it happen".

Recently Dan started a Facebook page called "Fantasy Island Memories" and says "we went from zero to three thousand likes within a couple of weeks."

He saved a lot of memorabilia from the park including vintage signs and familiar puppets. Currently he's making plans to put together some virtual shoot-outs using a green screen.

"Marshal Dan" says that as long as he's around "The last thing I'm going to do is let those memories fade."
