A 31-YEAR-OLD woman lost 150lbs in a year - after writing a ‘to do’ list to live her life to the fullest. Despite being active throughout her childhood, it was when Amber went to college that she started to put on weight due to struggling with her mental health. As a form of escapism from reality, Amber would play video games, eat junk food and watch TV. At her heaviest, she weighed over 300lbs. She told Truly: “The lowest part of my life was when I got so depressed, I just wished that I could take a zipper and just step out of my body, completely." The turning point for Amber was in August 2017 when she became so depressed she no longer wanted to live. Amber wrote a ‘to do’ list in the hope that it may help her find joy in living her life. She said: “It was everything that I’ve always dreamed of doing, that would literally make it worthwhile living instead of being depressed and sitting around and hating myself for years.” Amber began working out and setting herself small goals - within a year she lost 150lbs. She said: “At first it was hard to balance fitness with gaming so I actually took a break from gaming.” Amber now weighs 130lbs and is proud of her weightloss journey. “I’m actually really happy that I went through what I went through, because I wouldn’t be where I am now."
