Helping Those Vulnerable During COVID19
The pandemic has had a lot of consequences on everyday life: staying home, shops closed, entertainment canceled. But there are also consequences that the average person does not see: more victims of human trafficking. Founded in 2013, Exploit No More focuses on ending child sex trafficking in the greater Milwaukee region through three key approaches: Increasing awareness, advocating for better laws and services, and by helping victims while they are being exploited and after. Jarrett Luckett, Executive Director of Exploit No More, joins us to explain how COVID19 is the perfect storm for putting more people at risk of human trafficking, and how his organization is helping. Exploit No More is planning a virtual gala followed by a summit in June. Dates are TBD but coming soon. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram @exploitnomore for updates, or check out their website for more information exploitnomore.org
