Tom Cruise could be headed to space.
The A-lister actor is in the early stages of development with SpaceX and NASA to become the first actor to star in an action-adventure film shot in outer space.
Cruise plans to shoot the film on the International Space Station and be transported using a SpaceX rocket.
The film will not be a part of the Mission: Impossible franchise, reports Deadline, who broke the story. And the partnership is still in its infancy, as no studio has officially accepted to film the movie as of yet.
“Nasa is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the Space Station!,” NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine wrote on Twitter.

SpaceX and Boeing have been making efforts to send private citizens to space.  SpaceX intends to launch its first manned mission to the ISS May 27.
Situated 250 miles above Earth the space station carries out research and a number of cutting-edge experiments. NASA will grant private citizen access to the International Space Station's facilities, however, NASA will require a fee to allow an independent astronaut aboard the station.
