The New York Post reported that New York City’s health commissioner dismissed the New York Police Department’s request for surgical masks. According to Business Insider, Dr. Oxiris Barbot said in a call that she didn’t care about the department’s cops. NYPD Chief of DepartmentTerence Monahan requested 500,000 masks but was told they could only get 50,000. The Post reported that 5.490 NYPD members have been infected with coronavirus and 41 have died from it. People are now calling for the commissioner to resign or be fired after her comments.
