Winter weather advisories are in place for Shawano, Menominee, and Langlade Counties from Midnight through 8 am Sunday. A band of rain will transition to snow as we progress through the overnight. Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s as this snow begins to accumulate on grass and elevated surfaces. It will be breezy with northeast winds between 10 to 20 mph. Snow showers will diminish Sunday morning with some snow turning over to rain showers as temperatures climb to the lower 40s around noon. Accumulations will be a dusting to 2 inches. Some slush is possible on the roadways. This will be the third time in Green Bay history that snow has fallen on Mother's Day (2.6" in 1960 and a trace in 1946). A few isolated rain showers are possible in the afternoon with a north to northwest wind around 10 to 20 mph. High temperatures will get into the mid 40s. A gradual warm-up will take place next week with 60s in the picture by Thursday. The latest data suggests that some seasonal or even above above temperatures after May 17th. This would be greatly welcomes by many as we persist in this cool weather pattern.
