Joe Biden survived a divisive primary to emerge the Democratic nominee.
Now, his job is to unite the party behind him.
That job got a lot harder after accusations of sex assault were leveled at Biden by a former senate staffer.
Biden went on MSNBC and denied the allegations.
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll spells bad news for Biden.
The poll found 28 percent of Democrats “definitely” or “probably” favor replacing Biden with another nominee.
“The Democratic Party faces a real crisis of conscience,” said Camille Rivera, a Democratic strategist with a progressive firm in New York.
Nearly a third of all voters, 32 percent, said the allegations made them less likely to vote for Biden.
That's including 20 percent of Democratic voters.
22 percent of Democratic women said the allegations made them less likely to vote for Biden.
