Amazing insect looks just like a leaf!

This is a leaf insect, scientifically known as Phyllium Philippinicum. The leaf insect is an amazing species of insect related to the stick insect. They look exactly like leaves to help them blend into their natural habitat and stay protected from predators. Leaf insects are fun and easy insects to take care of in captivity as they eat bramble leaves which can be found year-round naturally where I live in the UK! They live for around 6 - 12 months and they go through several sheds in their life, each time they shed their skin the grow a little bit bigger until they are fully formed adults! The females can lay hundreds of eggs and have round abdomens, while the males have pointy or diamond shaped abdomens. All in all they are awesome creatures!!
