Temperatures cool off into the mid and upper 20s tonight with mostly clear skies and light southwest winds. We will climb into the 40 degree territory Sunday with another mostly sunny day. February 3rd is the last time the Fox Valley hit temperatures in the lower 40s. We will have a steady breeze out of the west at 10-15 mph with gusts near 20. Monday will be cooler with highs back in the mid 30s. We will see clouds begin to increase out from the west. A strong winter storm is currently projected to impacts parts of the Great Lakes Tuesday into Wednesday. Two areas of low pressure, one coming from Alberta, another one coming from Colorado, will fuse together somewhere in the southern Midwest/Great Lakes region. This will result in a prolonged event that will produce at least several inches of snowfall. Where exactly the energy sources will fuse together and its location in respect to Northeast Wisconsin remain uncertain with data showing numerous scenarios playing out. We hope to have a better answer within the next 48 hours. Whether or not we see snow from this storm, cold air wrapping around it will drive temperatures down into the mid and lower 20s Wednesday through Saturday. More mild air will return Sunday through the following week, melting the snow pack once again.
