Iranian health officials urged all religious gatherings to be suspended in Qom.
This happened after two more people tested positive for the coronavirus in the holy city.
Reuters reports that unfortunately, two died from the virus in Qom this week.
None of the people who were diagnosed with coronavirus were known to have traveled to China.
Mohammad Mehdi Gouya is the head of the center for the management of communicable diseases.
Gouya and Iran’s ministry of health report none of the victims were in contact with anyone who had gone to China.
