After a long day of taking pictures with tourists, the elephants are tired from the sun and jungle heat. As part of their daily routine, the elephants and their trainers head down to the river and enjoy a bath. They are visibly relieved as they lay down in the river and enjoy the splashing and playing around. The trainers even brush their skin to keep them clean.

This elephant camp is located just outside Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiang Mai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, partly because of its reputation for having so many elephant camps. At these camps tourists can come to feed, pet, ride, and sometimes even bath and hike with the elephants. The elephants were traditionally used as vehicles to carry heavy construction and farming materials like bamboo, but now the locals have retired them to camps like this where tourists can behold their majestic beauty.
