In many communities, barbershops are an effective way to reach people at high risk for certain health conditions.
According to a new study, they may be a good place to test black men for diabetes.
"Diabetes screening is especially important among black men. They have some of the highest rates of diabetic complications".
Study co-author David Lee
Researchers found that black men in America are at a higher risk for type 2 diabetes than men of other ethnic groups.
