A flood watch as well as winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings are in effect across the viewing area. Tonight, another heavy round of rain will move through into the morning tomorrow as another low pressure moves through. Rain totals will range from a half inch to over an inch by the morning. Rain will begin to turn over to snowfall during the early morning as temperatures start to fall off. We will see snow initially with temperatures hovering a few degrees above freezing but by the afternoon, we should be in the 20s so snow will definitely be accumulating. Snowfall will begin to taper to flurries by the evening hours with a few flurries continuing into the Tuesday morning hours. Snowfall totals will be around 3-6 inches for most areas but further in the Northwoods close to the U.P. 5-8 inches of snow will fall with a few locally higher totals. Sunshine will welcome us for the start of the new year with highs in the lower 30s.
