Scuba divers join hungry sharks in a close up feeding frenzy

Silvertip reef sharks are awe-inspiring creatures that inhabit the tropical waters around Papua New Guinea. These divers had traveled from all over the world to experience the world class diving that the area has to offer. One of the highlights of the trip was a close up look at the silvertips in their natural environment. Environmental photographers and videographers had joined this excursion for a chance to study the animals and document their feeding behavior. Only through greater understanding will we be able to conserve these sharks and protect the vital niche they fill in our ocean ecosystems.
