Portman pushes for eviction protections to prevent homelessness

Sen. Rob Portman's Eviction Crisis Act would create a nationwide database to track evictions as well as an emergency fund providing short-term financial assistance to evicted tenants. Community advocate Josh Spring, pointing out the link between eviction and homelessness, said he thinks it's a positive first step.
