It still looks like a church but three years ago the building had a make-over. Jacob and Jennifer Wankasky turned what used to be North Tonawanda's Ascension Church into The Old Chapel Antiques & Artisan Market. Jacob says "It's kind of a dream come true, honestly." The sixty-five hundred square feet of space is packed full of antiques, collectibles and even some new merchandise. Jacob says "we have a hundred and thirty vendors." They have expanded the snack bar to offer breakfast and lunch and have added a museum that pays tribute to the history of the church which was built a hundred and twenty-five years ago. About a mile down the street from the Chapel, Jacob and Jennifer opened a new place called The Old Greenhouse Antiques & Decor. Jacob says it has a great feel just like the Chapel, adding "it's unique because of the architecture and the fact that it was a greenhouse-a lot of history with the community shopping there for almost a hundred years." The Old Chapel Antiques & Artisan Market is at: 172 Robinson Street, North Tonawanda, New York The Old Greenhouse Antiques & Decor is at: 700 East Robinson Street, North Tonawanda, New York More info availableat their website.
