The District of Columbia is going after food delivery service DoorDash.
At issue is DoorDash's controversial wage model it had in place for years.
The pay model used customer tips to pay worker wages and inflate the company's bottom line.
Attorney General Karl Racine announced the legal action Tuesday, following an investigation that began in March.
DoorDash had allegedly violating the Consumer Protection Procedures Act up until September.
