Pike County massacre: Trial for Rita Newcomb delayed until Dec.

The trial for the matriarch of the Pike County family accused of killing eight people was delayed on Monday. Rita Jo Newcomb, 66, stands accused of perjury, obstructing justice and forgery to protect her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons charged in the murders of eight members of the Rhoden family in 2016. Jury selection for Newcomb’s trial was supposed to begin on Monday, but her trial was delayed. Now, a hearing will be held on Dec. 2.
