Groundbreaking research is challenging decades of common medical knowledge.
According to Business Insider, common heart surgeries to remove blockages in arteries — like bypasses — are unnecessary.
That's because they can be treated with drug therapy.
Patients could save $775 million a year by not having the surgeries done, one doctor told The New York Times.
