It was well within President Trump’s rights to “at his discretion remove an inferior officer whose term is limited by statute, or one appointed with the consent of the Senate.”
Even in Schiff’s opening statement he admitted, “Some have argued that a president has the ability to nominate or remove any ambassador he wants – that they serve at the pleasure of the president – and that is true.”
