Reuters reports Walmart Inc had a festive third quarter.
The retail giant reported better-than-expected third quarter U.S. comparable sales on Thursday.
People spent more at its stores and website, and the retailer also picked up market share in food and other groceries.
Walmart also raised its annual earnings outlook, sending its shares up over 3 percent in premarket trade.
The company has also managed to minimize the impact from tariffs on imports from China, imposed by President Donald Trump.
Adjusted earnings per share increased to $1.16 per share, beating expectations of $1.09 per share.
