US Department of Justice attorneys say Rick Gates is ready to be sentenced in mid-December.
It potentially closes one of the final open chapters from special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
The proposal to finally hand down Gates’ punishment next month came in a one-page joint status report filed on Monday.
Gates’ sentencing has been postponed numerous times since he began to cooperate with federal prosecutors.
