In the USSR, front-wheel drive for a long time was generally assessed negatively [6]. It was believed that front-wheel drive cars justify themselves only in conditions of good roads and relatively mild climate, and are unsuitable for use in winter conditions, on dirt roads and, all the more, off-road due to low traction and coupling qualities, which additionally deteriorate when loading a car with passengers and baggage, movement on the rise and on slippery surfaces, in particular - in ice.
