Reuters reports the president of the United Auto Workers union has taken a paid leave of absence.
Gary Jones has been linked to an ongoing corruption probe by U.S. federal officials.
Jones has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
The UAW announced in a statement that Jones' leave of absence will be effective beginning Sunday.
He will be replaced on an acting basis by Rory Gamble, who recently led the team that negotiated a new labor deal with Ford Motor Co.
