Tampons, pads and other period products are medically necessary for most women throughout most of their lives — after all, there's no opting out of menstruation. So why are these products taxed? A group of Ohio lawmakers want to eliminate what they call the "pink tax," the practice of taxing hygiene products exclusively meant for women.
