These adorable pictures show a tiny flamingo chick which is the first to be born in Scotland this year. Bird Gardens Scotland, in Oxton, Scottish Borders, welcomed the “flamingling” into the world last week. The little four day old bird, which has yet to be sexed, weighed just 52 grams when it hatched on Friday (September 13).
It was soon given its first meal, through an improvised feeder - made out of a pipette and syringe - filled with a ‘crop milk’ formula. The feeder mimics the beak of an adult flamingo feeding beak-to-beak.
