Cockatoo Throws Fit Over Cardboard

This is Maui Lynn, the obnoxious cockatoo. Commonly seen on YouTube, Maui Lynn is no stranger to making a scene. She is hilarious, and she often entertains her public with her crazy antics. Sometimes this consists of this silly bird tearing up objects such as boxes, toys, food, etc, and other times it is by throwing her little cockatoo fits when she does not get what she wants. Maui is 25 years old, believe it or not. Parrots can live up to 50 or 60 years if cared for properly. Maui Lynn is now a very healthy and happy bird, but this was not always the case. Her previous owner did not provide her with the things she needed, like love, proper diet, attention, and clean shelter. However, all of that has been fixed since she has come to her new home about 4 and a half years ago.

In this video, you will see exactly what Maui does when she decides that she does not like something. She is no stranger to throwing fits reminiscent of fits that two and three year old human children throw when they do not get their way. Her owner has placed a wide piece of cardboard on top of her cage, and apparently this is not up to Maui's standards. The cardboard was placed there to cover the top of the cage, and also to give Maui something to gnaw on and destroy. Parrots require not only a great deal of interaction and attention, they also require things to destroy. These objects can come in almost any form, but one of Maui's favorite objects to destroy is cardboard boxes. However, for whatever reason, she has decided that she does not like this particular piece of cardboard at all.
