Horrifying RV Fire Causes Big Traffic Jam

Elsa from Vancouver BC was heading to visit her parent along with her daughter when they encountered the beginning of a huge traffic jam. Heading towards the Golden Ears Bridge that carries traffic over the Fraser River from Surrey to Maple Ridge, Elsa could see dark black smoke in the distance. Approaching very slowly along with the rest of the afternoon traffic, there were no first responders in sight. Crossing a major intersection Elsa and her daughter slowly were able to see the vehicle that was ablaze. It was a Volkswagen van. Many of these are converted for use as a recreational camperized van. These vans have always been popular as recreational vehicles as they have a classic style from the early 60's and are very cute. One of the drawbacks they do have is an air cooled engine which is located in the rear of the vehicle, and can become over heated if not maintained well. As Elsa approached even closer to the vehicle fire, it was visible that the driver had escaped the blaze, but it appears their shoes were left behind outside the van. Passing closely by the van while it was fully engulfed, created a lot of heart. Elsa's daughter mentioned that " even with the windows closed on mom's car, I could feel the heat from the fire". As seen in the video, there are a number of spectators a short distance from the blazing van, so let's hope one of those was the owner, a safe distance from the fire. Vehicle fires are always a very scary situation to witness.
