“ I am Kitten, hear me ROAR” There is a famous phrase “ inside every kitten beats the heart of a lion” This “furrocious” ball playing cat is my pedigree British Shorthair cat, Indy. I’m quite sure he would refer to me as “his human”. People who live with domestic cats often say that their cats have trained them, rather than the other way around. It’s seems this is true as DNA studies show that house.cats are almost identical to their wild counterparts physically and genetically. They have lived with humans for almost ten thousand years, befriending us while never being under our control. The British Shorthair cat is believed to be the pedigree version of the domestic cats imported into Britain by the invading Romans in the 1st century AD. Indy lives a safe, protected life of complete luxury that his wild ancestors could only have dreamed of. He sleeps on or in any bed he wants, those designed for cats and those designed for humans; he has 4 luxury meals provided each day, some cooked to order by me, his human. and a warm safe house to command from the top of his cat tree, usually while in a catnip induced stupor. I am only too happy to be his servant!
