Lincoln County looks to declare state of emergency ahead of Area 51 events

Lincoln County officials are looking to declare a state of emergency ahead of multiple events surrounding Area 51 next month. The county commission approved a pre-signing of the declaration which would bring in the funds for more medical and law enforcement resources ahead of two planned festivals in the area stemming from a joke Facebook account. Alien Stock and Peacestock 51 are happening the weekend of Sept. 19 through Sept. 21. Thousands of people are expected to descend upon Rachel and Armagosa Valley.
