20-year-old man dead after drive-by shooting

Police have launched a murder probe after a 20-year-old man was blasted dead in a drive-by shooting on a leafy residential street.

Emergency services were called to Goosemoor Lane in the Erdington area of Birmingham at around 7.20pm on Thursday (8/8).

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was treated by paramedics but could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police are now hunting the gunman who fired a shot from dark-coloured vehicle as it entered the road from neighbouring Gravelly Lane.
