Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe recently spoke out about his ruling coalition’s win. He said the win in an upper house election showed that voters supported debate over his proposal. According to Reuters, Abe proposed a revision of the post-war, pacifist constitution. The prime minister then spoke out about a schedule rise in the sales tax of 10 percent from 8 percent. He said the tax rise was necessary for the social security system and to gain international trust.
