Near tragic accident involving two police officers

On Saturday, July 6 at around 2:00 a.m., two Painesville police officers were conducting a traffic stop on W Walnut Avenue, when a passing vehicle struck an oncoming pickup truck, nearly missing one officer and striking the patrol car head on where a second officer was seated. The officer in the patrol car was treated and released by Tripoint Medical Center for minor injuries.
