Resorts in Mexico are the perfect place for relaxing in the sun and swimming in the warm tropical waters of the Caribbean. Many wild creatures also live within the grounds of the resorts. These creatures are not quite on a vacation like the humans, but they have taken up refuge within the bush areas of these resorts. Not unlike other wild animals in our world, it is not suggested to feed the wild creatures. Recently while on a vacation honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, Brent and his wife stayed at Vidanta. An amazing resort with acres of trees and bush in which wild animals inhabit, this day there were a few green iguana enjoying the pool area. Soaking in some sun near one of the many incredible pools, Brent noticed a small group of green iguanas hanging around. The green iguana is very popular in these areas that generally grown to a length of between 5 and 6 feet and weighs in around 20 pounds. Being mainly vegetarians, in particular, they like flowering shrubs, like hibiscus, berries, fruits and vegetables, like tomatoes, strawberries and figs. Wanting to get some great video of these beautiful creatures, there just happened to be a chicken morsel left over from lunch which was placed in front of the GoPro. Although mainly vegetarians, the iguanas do eat meat in small quantities. If consuming excessive amounts of animal protein, this could cause severe kidney problems and possible premature death for the lizard. Like many animals when spending extended periods of time around humans, these iguana have become relatively calm around the resort guests. This couple relaxing under the cabana seemed slightly uncomfortable with the iguanas scurrying around at the base of their chairs so they kept their feet well clear of the deck. Spotting the chicken morsel near the camera, one large iguana raced in and snatched it up. Looking as though he had just stolen a diamond ring from Tiffany, he scans left and right then bolts for safety with a very full mouth. Having very sharp teeth, the iguana shred leafs and vegetation with ease. This also makes it very easy for them to shred human flesh if someone were to try hand feeding one that may not be as tame as expected. With the chicken nugget thief disappearing around the corner past the lounging pool guests, the second iguana slowly meandered on its way.
