Business Insider reports an extreme heatwave is hitting India this summer.
The heatwave has broken records and killed more than 100 people.
Parts of the country have exceeded 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).
The state that contains the capital New Delhi exceeded 48 C (118 F) — its hottest June on record.
One researcher said that letting global heating trends continue "runs the risk of having extremely lethal heat waves."
