Record Number of Pets Abandoned in Montreal on Moving Day
5 years ago
45.3K
For many Quebecers, July 1 is moving day! One can usually score a couch, table or piece of art found on the cluttered sidewalks of Montreal. But many people also find abandoned pets left behind in buildings or thrown onto the streets. For over twenty years, the number of animals brought into the SPCA triples between May-August, due to the fact that people move into a new residence that doesn’t allow animals. Many people bring their pet into the SPCA, while others abandon them and leave them left to fend for themselves. Today we check in with SPCA Spokesperson, Anita Kapuscinska, to talk more about this.
