According to a report by Reuters, US Chief Justice John Roberts angered people on both sides of the political spectrum in deciding the outcomes of major rulings on the census and electoral map manipulation. Robert, appointed in 2005 by President George W. Bush, sided with conservative justices in rejecting challenges to partisan gerrymandering, before siding with the court's liberals in shooting down President Donald Trump's plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.
