In 2013, Tom Holland was asked in an interview what superhero he would like to play. According to Comicbook.com, he joked about possibly playing Sipder-Man in “the reboot of the reboot.” In 2015 the actor was cast for the role and has expressed joy in being able to be a character he loves. He said: “It's an amazing experience as an actor and such a privileged experience as an actor to get to play a character that you love so much.
