Illinois just became the first state to legalize marijuana sales through the state legislature, rather than a ballot initiative.
Governor JB Pritzker's, who made marijuana legalization a key component of his campaign for governor, signed the bill into law on Tuesday.
According to Business Insider, the bill legalizes the possession and commercial sale of both medical and recreational marijuana in the state.
