According to a report by Gizmodo, NASA's Curiosity rover has discovered 'startlingly high amounts of methane in the Martian air' in what could potentially be a sign of life on the Red Planet. On Saturday, the New York Times reported that the detection of methane would be a major discovery as it breaks down within a few centuries, meaning that it would have had to have been generated quite recently in historical terms.
