After Iran shot down an American drone in international airspace late Wedneday evening, the president initially responded by posting a threatening tweet warning that the rogue nation had "made a very big mistake!"

Shortly thereafter, he seemed to backtrack by suggesting that the downing of an unmanned U.S. RQ-4A Global Hawk drone had been an unintentional error.
