Ta-Nehisi Coates fights against Mitch McConnell's argument against reparations Unlisted Video

Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates called out Majority Leader Mitch McConnell during a congressional hearing. According to Business Insider, the hearing was about reparations for the descendants of slaves. New legislation would authorize a commission to study slavery’s legacy and find ways to address it. McConnell argues that “no one currently alive was responsible” for slavery. Coates argues reparations would also be for the legacy of white supremacy and state-sponsored racialized terror.
