The CAQ government passed its religious symbols ban in the National Assembly Sunday night. The ban, called Bill 21, would prevent teachers, police officers and other civil servants from wearing religious garb or symbols at work. Furthermore, it prevents people with a covered face from receiving government services. In protest of the bill, a citizens initiatives have launched rotating one day hunger strikes and are currently standing their ground in front of Francois Legault's office. Some of the activists will commit to 24 hours of fasting while one individual will fast for a full 5 days but will consume water. The strike will end on June 22nd unless things change.
