Director Todd Phillips confirms the upcoming DC Comics film “Joker” will be R-rated. According to Comicbook.com, Phillips shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring Joaquin Phoenix. The photo showed Phoenix painting his face white in front of multiple mirrors. While Phillips said the film will be R-rated, the MPAA does not rate films until they are complete. The film will show the Joker’s origin story as a failed comedian and his journey into madness.
