A group was reportedly offered nearly $8,000 to kill former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz. According to Reuters, the alleged shooter was arrested, along with four others involved. Ortiz faced two rounds of surgery after being attacked at a Dominican Republic bar. His family said he is recovering and has already sat up and taken a few steps. National Police chief Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte decline to give a motive for the shooting.
